Unrivaled's inaugural season will tip off tonight with a TNT double-header starting at 7 p.m. EST. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese and her Rose Basketball Club will face off against Vinyl BC at 8 p.m. EST.

Before Reese takes to the court on Friday, Sky fans can take an short look at Unrivaled and its first season through the lens of the Windy City franchise.

What is Unrivaled?

Founded by All-WNBA forwards Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, Unrivaled is a 3-on-3 basketball league featuring 36 players from across the WNBA. There will be plenty of star power to look out for in the league's inaugural season, including a Lincolnwood native in All-Star guard Jewell Loyd and a 2023 MVP finalist in forward Alyssa Thomas. Former Sky forward Candace Parker will star in TNT's studio coverage of the groundbreaking league.

The league's games will fit four quarters of play within a 1-hour broadcast window, according to Unrivaled's FAQ. ESPN released Unrivaled's official rules in a Wednesday article. Among other unique rules, it highlights differences to free throw, foul and winning score rules to its big-league counterpart. The league will implement an 18-second shot clock. They will consist of three 7-minute quarters and one "winning score" quarter, meaning the ending score both teams must reach to win will be the leading team's score at the end of the third quarter plus 11 points. The games will be played on a compressed 70-by-50 full court, the FAQ continued, which defers from the rules and dimensions of the 3-on-3 Olympic format.

Who should Sky fans look out for?

While Reese will be the Sky's only active representative in Unrivaled, Chicago will be represented by plenty of past talent.
