Former Sky champion to star in TNT's Unrivaled studio coverage

Former Chicago Sky forward Candace Parker will star in TNT's studio coverage for the upcoming Unrivaled league, according to a Tuesday tweet from Unrivaled.

She will be one of a trio of personalities who will cover the first-ever season of Unrivaled, Hitting the Hardwood host Mitchell Hansen wrote in a Tuesday tweet. She will join Renee Montgomery and Laura Jbara in studio coverage. Montgomery earned an All-Star selection and two championships in her 11-year WNBA career. Lisa Leslie, a Hall-of-Fame center for the Los Angeles Sparks, will join as an announcer on the talented media team.

Parker spent two seasons with the Sky after carving out an illustrious WNBA career with the Sparks. The Naperville Central star lead Chicago its second league finals appearance in 2021, where a budding star in guard Kahleah Copper helped guide the Sky to a their first championship with a four-game win over the Phoenix Mercury. Parker began her broadcasting career with NBA on TNT in 2018, where she turned an audition with Turner Sports into coverage in the NBA and the Men's Division 1 NCAA tournament for multiple networks. She covered the Men's D1 Tournament for TNT Sports’ Atlanta studio in 2024.

Parker will have the opportunity to cover a 3-on-3 league which features a number of former Sky players. Forward Angel Reese, who ended her All-Star season with a spot on the league's All-Rookie team, will team up with Copper on the Rose Basketball Club. A number of Sky champions will suit up for the league's six teams, including forward Azura Stevens and a Sky legend in guard Courtney Vandersloot. Five current and former Sky players will play when the league tips of on Jan. 17, including three on Rose BC.

Reese will take the court with a talented cast of players from across the WNBA. Forward Azura Stevens, who was a reliable option off the bench during her time with the Sky, will join Reese in the frontcourt. Two talented guards in Chelsea Gray and Brittney Sykes will take up the backcourt. Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull will round out the 6-player roster. The squad will be lead by head coach Nola Henry, who has worked in multiple roles for the Sparks and Connecticut Sun in the past.
