The Chicago Sky started to buy into a youth movement when it used three selections the season before.

Two of their picks ended up becoming starters and All-Rookie selections while adding to their respective games in offseason opportunities. They continued to buy into building a new chapter in the Sky's history when they ended the 2025 WNBA Draft with four selections, including two consecutive picks in the first round. Should all of their selections pay off, the Sky will be left with a wealth of young talent to build around as they look to turn a new page with head coach Tyler Marsh.

The Sky boosted their depth and players who could strengthen their offense with the additions of Ajša Sivka and Hailey Van Lith. They rounded out their draft class with Notre Dame's Maddy Westbeld and Texas A&M's Aicha Coulibaly, who can both be steals if they can address some of the Sky's biggest weaknesses from the season before.

While they will have plenty of tough training camp battles to look out for, the four newbies each bring in a skillset that can elevate Chicago's potential for the future. More importantly, they can boost the play of their budding big duo in Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso.

The Sky added to their defense with the addition of Coulibaly. The 2-time All-SEC Second Team selection will be a name to look out for even with Chicago's new additions at both guard spots. The shooting of Sivka, Van Lith and Westbeld can help with developing a reliable offense around the two sophomore bigs. Westbeld, a 5-year starter for Notre Dame, ended her collegiate career with a comfortable 35% from the 3-point line. Whether she plays in the W or not in her first year, Sivka can be the forward the Sky need to take their offense to the next level with her ability to stretch the floor and find her teammates for open looks.

“Forwards who can stretch the floor will always hold high value in this game, and that’s exactly what Ajša Sivka provides,” Sky General Manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a Tuesday release. “We’re excited to land someone who is not only skilled, but has been playing at a high level professionally for years.”

Should all four of their picks make the opening day roster, the Sky can continue to strengthen their offense before potentially adding another young star in the 2026 WNBA Draft.
