How to watch Angel Reese’s Unrivaled games: Full schedule and TV channels
By Elaine Blum
One of the most exciting parts of this WNBA offseason will be Unrivaled’s inaugural season. The first games will be played on January 17, 2025.
Unrivaled is a new women’s basketball league founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. 36 players will compete for six different clubs in a new three-on-three style. Unlike the 3x3 games fans know from FIBA competitions and the 2024 Olympics, Unrivaled will play on a full court (although slightly smaller than a WNBA court), and games will consist of four quarters with seven minutes each. It will also feature 1v1 tournaments in February.
Although Caitlin Clark decided not to join the new league, it still features plenty of star power. Founders Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart are joined by big names such as Chelsea Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, Kahleah Copper, Kelsey Plum, Satou Sabally, Alyssa Thomas, and Angel Reese.
Before even playing a single game, Unrivaled has already logged several notable wins. Besides landing several big-time players, they also convinced front-office talent to leave their positions in the WNBA. Unrivaled also already signed a multi-year TV deal with TNT and has the ability to offer players significant salaries. The first tickets put up for sale even sold out in under 30 minutes. It is fair to say that fans are beyond excited for this new league.
Unrivaled is a huge opportunity for players to earn money and play basketball during the offseason without having to leave their friends and families for several months. Chicago Sky star Angel Reese will be a part of it.
What Unrivaled team is Angel Reese on?
Angel Reese was the first player put onto the Rose Basketball Club. She was in Pod E with Satou Sabally, Breanna Stewart, Napheesa Collier, Alyssa Thomas, and Aliyah Edwards—players the coaches felt could act as cornerstones and were easy to build around.
Reese will be playing with Chelsea Gray, Brittney Sykes, Kahleah Copper, Azurá Stevens, and Lexie Hull, giving her plenty of veterans to learn from and spacing to work with.
The Rose Basketball Club will be coached by Nola Henry. While Reese missed out on an opportunity to be reunited with Teresa Weatherspoon, her head coach during her rookie season, she should be able to learn plenty from Henry. Henry has several years of coaching experience at the WNBA level, most recently as a player development coach with the Los Angeles Sparks.
Weatherspoon will be coaching the Vinyl Basketball Club, Reese’s opponent on opening night.
