The WNBA All-Star Game takes on a different form in 2024. The entire league will pause from July 17 to August 15 for the Olympics. It also gave the league the chance to put some of their best players up against Team USA. The Americans are searching for their eighth straight Olympic gold medal in Paris and facing the WNBA’s best will be an outstanding tune-up.
The Chicago Sky will be represented by rookie Angel Reese at the 2024 All-Star game. The 22-year-old is leading the league in rebounding and is part of a historic rookie class. Reese is amped to team with Caitlin Clark as they try to defeat Team USA in the event.
Reese hopes to play for her country in 2028 and is already elite. It is a massive honor to be named an All-Star and this is the second time the WNBA’s best faced Team USA for the event. Here is everything fans need to know about the historic event in 2024.

Date: Saturday, July 20
Time: 7:30 p.m. CT or 8:30 p.m. ET
The event is less than one week away. It will be the first tune-up for Team USA as they prepare for the Olympics. They face Germany on July 23 before opening group play in Paris against Japan on July 29. With just two exhibitions, the Americans will be focused and looking to put on a show against the WNBA’s best.
The WNBA All-Stars defeated Team USA 93-85 in 2021 ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. The Americans will be looking for a bit of revenge three years later.
This is the 20th WNBA All-Star game. Fans can enjoy the skills competition and 3-point contest on July 19 before the main event on Saturday.
Where is the WNBA All-Star Game?
The 2024 contest is at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
It is the third time the arena has hosted the WNBA All-Star Game. The first time was in 2000 when Tina Thompson won MVP as the West topped the East. Phoenix also hosted a wild contest in 2014 when the East topped the West 125-124 in overtime.
The Footprint Center has a capacity of 17,035 for basketball games, and the event is already sold out. It will be a massive crowd to watch Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark face Team USA. Expect plenty of energy in what will be a historic event for the league.

Fans can watch the WNBA All-Star Game on ABC or ESPN at 8:30 p.m. ET on July 20. Fans can enjoy it on the ESPN app if they have a cable subscription.
