Chicago Sky center Kamilla Cardoso and guard Chennedy Carter continue to shine with their respective WCBA squads.

Carter, who has proven to be a standout scorer for Wuhan Shengfan, dropped 40 points in a 1-point win over Liaoning on Friday. The 5-foot-9 guard added seven assists, four rebounds and five steals, according to a Friday tweet from WNBACentral. Wuhan has won four of its last five games and nine of its last 10, leading it to a first-place spot in the league's Group B standings. Sichuan, a squad highlighted by former New York Liberty center Han Xu, has proven to be the best team in the league after jumping out to a 21-0 record and the top spot in the Group A1 standings.

Carter proved to be a much-needed scoring option for the Sky last season after averaging a team-leading 17.5 points per game, a trend she has continued into her recent stint with Wuhan. She has scored 40 points or more on three other occasions in her WCBA run this season, including 44 in a December win over Hefei. She leads the league in scoring with an astounding 30.7 points per game, beating out the next leader in forward Myisha Hines-Allen by 6.3 per game. Carter is listed as a restricted free agent for the Sky, who can extend a qualifying offer to the 26-year-old starting today.

Center Kamilla Cardoso led the Shanghai Swordfish to a 5-point win over Shangdong with an impressive outing of her own. She earned 26 points on an efficient 57% from the floor. The 6-foot-7 center brought down 10 boards and dished five assists. She showed she may be ready to take her next giant leap with a 37-point outing in a win over Hebei earlier this month. The 23-year-old has logged 12 double-doubles for Shanghai this season, five more than her double-double total with the Sky in 2024.
