The Rose Basketball Club will restart their Unrivaled run with a matchup against the Vinyl on Tuesday.
The Rose fell in their last matchup against the Vinyl despite 45 combined points from guards Kahleah Copper and Chelsea Gray. Vinyl guard Rhyne Howard, who made it to the second round of the league's 1-on-1 tournament with a win over Rose guard Lexie Hull, led her squad with 33 points in the close victory. Howard is averaging 17 points per game in six games played, including 21 points in the Vinyl's final played matchup before the 1-on-1 break.
Forward Dearica Hamby, a 3-time All-Star and 2-time Sixth Player of the Year, will be a player to look out for as the Rose take on the Vinyl. The Los Angeles Sparks forward is averaging 21.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, making her one of the league's leaders in both categories. She logged a 17-point double-double in the Vinyl's first win over the Rose, nearly helpoing them win the battle on the boards with 13 rebounds in 13 minutes of play. It will be up to forward Angel Reese, who is nearly averaging a double-double of her own, to hold off Hamby and prove why the Rose are the top rebounding team in Unrivaled.
Both the Rose and the Vinyl are 3-4 in their first seven games of play. They sit at 4.5 wins behind the Lunar Owls for the top spot in the league. The Rose are on a 2-game win streak following victories against the Mist and the Laces. The Rose are in second place in Unrivaled in points per game with 69.4. They must continue to unleash their scoring potential against a Vinyl squad that ranks near the bottom of the league with an average of 63.6 points per game.
The Rose will tip off against the Vinyl at 7:30 p.m. EST on Tuesday. The game will be broadcast on TNT.
