Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball, a league of the women's sports organization Athletes Unlimited with rotating rosters, will begin its 2025 season with two bouts on Wednesday night. Team Bell and Team Westbrook will kick off the league's fourth season with a game at 6 p.m. EST. The first week of the season will extend to Feb. 8 before restarting on the 12th.
Joining the four rosters will be 40 players from across the women's basketball landscape. They include several WNBA veterans like Las Vegas Aces forward Kierstan Bell, Los Angeles Sparks guard Lexie Brown and now-Indiana Fever guard Sydney Colson. Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray, who would go on to win the WNBA's Skills and 3-point Shootout Challenges, was crowned the champion of the 2024 season after setting a new league record of just over 6,900 leaderboard points.
Elizabeth Williams
Williams, a 1-time All-Star and 2-time All-Defensive selection, will be suiting up for Team Westbrook in the league's first week. She averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds per game in nine games played with the Sky last season. The decade-long WNBA veteran will be entering her third year with the Sky in 2025. Williams joined the league's roster in December, marking her first year in the younger league. She will play alongside former Sparks guard Evina Westbrook, Dallas Wings guard Tyasha Harris and New York Liberty guard Jaylyn Sherrod in Week 1.
Isabelle Harrison
Harrison has made a name for herself in Athletes Unlimited even before she was named a team captain on Monday. The veteran forward was named a member of the league's Player Executive Committee, the committee tasked with working with Athletes Unlimited on some of the league's most important operations, last month. Harrison took third place in the league's standings in 2022 and sixth place in 2023.
Harrison's Week 1 squad will feature Wings forward Maddy Siegrist, a UCLA standout in guard Charisma Osborne and a former Sky guard and champion in Lexie Brown. Team Harrison will tip off against Team Colson at 8:30 p.m. EST. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.
Kia Nurse
Nurse, who officially signed with the Sky on Tuesday, will be entering her first season with Athletes Unlimited. She will be paying with Williams on Team Westbrook. The Canadian guard signed a 1-year, $145,000 contract as she took her talents to the Windy City, according to a Wednesday tweet from HerHoopStats's Richard Cohen. The 6-foot guard averaged 7.6 points per game on a 38.8% clip from the floor with the Sparks last season. Nurse and Team Westbrook will take the court at 6 p.m. EST on Wednesday. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.
