Are the Chicago Sky done making moves before the end of the 2025 WNBA Draft?

Chicago will enter tonight's draft with the 10th, 11th, 16th and 22nd selections. The Sky added their 4th draft pick the evening before the draft officially kicks off, which can give them the flexibility to find more foundational players should they choose to use at least two of them. They have the opportunity to make four selections for the fourth time in their history despite having a largely solidified roster.

It will take finding home run selections or diamonds in the rough later in the first round to round out a roster on the rise with a handful of new faces.

While a majority of their more notable picks have come from top-5 selections, the Sky have found a few underrated gems in the past with their later 1st-round picks, including a decent contributor in Ruthy Hebard in 2020. They hit home runs with their two 1st-rounders in 2024 when they selected an SEC duo in Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese. The two would prove they could be the big duo Chicago needs to build around for the future after earning spots on the All-Rookie team.

Still, the Sky may need to make a move on draft night to make the most of their picks.

Could the Sky have a blockbuster trade in store?

Chicago will have a decent amount of leverage on draft night following their recent moves, which could be beneficial for the squad to continue their upward trajectory.

The Sky will have two roster spots to fill and a need for extra depth at the point guard and forward spots. Chicago has nearly solidified its starting five after adding two former All-Star guards in Ariel Atkins and Courtney Vandersloot. While they have more than enough depth at the two guard, the Sky could use a younger option to work behind Vandersloot and be an effective floor general and defender for the future.

Will the Sky choose to package their picks in a trade? Or will they add four players and work things out through training camp? Either way, Chicago will have plenty of options to look at in what could be a defining draft for a team hoping to make its way back into playoff contention.

The 2025 WNBA Draft will begin at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Monday. It will be broadcast on ESPN and can be streamed on ESPN+.
