Chicago Sky center Kamilla Cardoso continued to prove her excellence in the offseason with a 20-point performance in a close loss to Guangdong on Tuesday.
She added eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks, according to a Tuesday tweet from WNBACentral. The Brazilian center's recent performance followed up a 17-point, 13-rebound outing in a dominant win over Xinjiang. The 6-foot-7 center hit nine of her 14 shot attempts, adding to her scoring streak that saw her hit 50% or more of her shots from the field in all but two of her games in the Women's Chinese Basketball Association. She earned the WCBA's Player of the Week following a stellar stretch that saw her average just over 27 points and 14.6 rebounds per game in three games. Cardoso has scored 25 points or more in six of her games of WCBA play.
Cardoso's Sky teammate in guard Chennedy Carter continued her scoring dominance for Wuhan Shengfan over the last week. She highlighted her recent stretch of matchups with a 36-point performance in a win over Xiamen. The 5-foot-9 guard is leading the WCBA in points and steals per game, according to the league's website. Carter earned the league's Player of the Week in three straight league rounds as she helped guide Wuhan to one of the top spots in the WCBA's Group B standings.
Sky guard Lindsay Allen, who is under contract for Chicago heading into 2025, flashed her potential as a scorer and a passer with a solid stretch for Botaş SK of the Turkish Women's Basketball Super League. The former Minnesota Lynx guard has averaged 19 points and five assists per game in her last three matchups. She currently leads the team in assists per game with 6.1 and is barely behind Indiana Fever forward Damiris Dantas for second place on the squad in points per game.
