Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter dropped 40 points in a Thursday win over the Henan Phoenix of the Women's Chinese Basketball Association, according to a tweet from WNBACentral.

Carter nearly ended the Wuhan win with a triple-double as she added nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals. She hit just under 53% of her shots from the floor, adding to an efficient season that is seeing her make over 57% of her 2-point tries. Wuhan took an 86-73 victory over the Odyssey Sims-led Phoenix, who are two spots behind second-place Wuhan in the league's Group B standings.

Carter has regularly logged 40-point games since she first suited up for Wuhan in November. Thursday's win would mark the fourth time she has scored 40 points or more this season. She earned her season high of 44 in a dominant win over a Hefei squad that features former Seattle Storm guard Kiana Williams. Carter is averaging a league-leading 30.3 points per game, 7.1 more than the next leading scorer in Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell. Carter scored 51 points as a member of the Heilongjiang Dragons last season, further showcasing the scoring skills that made her a standout guard for Chicago before she signed her training camp contract in February. Carter averaged a Sky-leading 17.5 points per game during her first season with the Sky, a career high for the former Texas A&M guard.

Chicago forward Brianna Turner is logging minutes for the Adelaide Lightning of the Australian Women's National Basketball League this offseason. She ended an Adelaide win over the Sydney Flames with a double-double in 35 minutes played on Sunday. The 6-foot-3 big is leading the Lightning with 12 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game. Turner is playing alongside now-Golden State Valkyries forward Stephanie Talbot, who was selected in this month's expansion draft with former Sky forward María Conde.
