Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles notched a triple-double in a 95-54 win over the Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday.
Miles would become the first major conference player to earn consecutive triple-doubles since now-Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, according to a Sunday tweet from the ACC Network. She earned a triple-double in a recent win over Loyola Maryland. Her all-around talent was on full display as she logged 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
The 5-foot-10 guard would also become the third player in Notre Dame history to earn 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists. She joined now-Seattle Storm guard Skylar Diggins-Smith and now-Chicago Sky guard Lindsay Allen. Allen, who took over a full-time starting role for Chicago in June, became a leading passing option for the Sky in her 40 games of play.
Miles dished a season-high 14 assists in Notre Dame's Sunday win. She leads the No. 3 Fighting Irish in assists per game. Miles is just ahead of TCU guard Hailey Van Lith and Texas guard Rori Harmon for sixth place in the country in assists per contest. She has logged seven or more assists on nine occasions this season, highlighting her excellence as a passer for one of the top-ranked squads in the country.
Miles has improved on her ability to shoot from long range during her senior season. She is logging career highs in 3-point attempts and percentage. Her consistency from long range can make her a solid fit on a Sky squad in need of more shooting help.
Miles's all-around talent could make her a needed selection for a Windy City squad in need of young options that can empower their sophomore big duo of Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso in this year's WNBA Draft. Should she be available for the Sky with the No. 3 pick, her proficiency in just about everything could make her the next engine on offense that pushes Chicago back into playoff contention.
