The Chicago Sky extended qualifying offers to guard Dana Evans, forward Michaela Onyenwere and forward Nikolina Milić on Monday, according to the WNBA's Transaction Report.

Evans, an All-Rookie selection in 2021, first joined the Sky in a 2021 trade with the Dallas Wings. The 5-foot-6 guard played in 39 games and started in 12 for Chicago last season. She averaged 7.2 points and 2.4 assists per game during the Sky's 2024 campaign. Evans took third place in Sixth Player of the Year voting with nine total votes in 2023. She would place ahead of Dallas Wings center Kalani Brown, then-New York Liberty guard Marine Johannès and Seattle Storm guard Sami Whitcomb.

Onyenwere, who was in the same rookie class as Evans, was sent to Chicago in a February trade that shipped All-Star guard Kahleah Copper to the Phoenix Mercury. She proved to be an unsung scoring hero for the Sky as she worked her way into a starting role by August. The 6-foot forward found her scoring stride as the WNBA season began to come to a close. She saw her scoring averages increase to 10.4 points per game in September behind a handful of solid scoring performances as a starter.

Milić was included in an April trade that allowed the Sky to jump one place in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Chicago would send the No. 8 pick, a 2025 second-round pick, a 2026 first-round pick swap and now-Washington Mystics forward Sika Koné to the Minnesota Lynx in exchange for Milić and the pick that would end up becoming forward Angel Reese. Milić has played in 70 games and started in seven in two seasons with the Lynx. She currently plays for Fenerbahçe of the Women's Basketball Super League in Turkey, the same league Evans has suited up for this offseason.

Guard Chennedy Carter, who is listed as a restricted free agent for the Sky, has yet to be extended a qualifying offer. WNBA squads have until Jan. 20 to extend qualifying offers, according to the Indy Star. They can begin negotiating contracts with players on Jan. 21. Carter, who quickly became a starter for the Sky after signing a training camp deal in February, averaged a team-leading 17.5 points per game for Chicago last season. The Sky newcomer is averaging 31.2 points per game for Wuhan Shengfan of the Women's Chinese Basketball Association, putting her ahead of a few WNBA veterans for first place in the league.
