Forward Angel Reese and the Rose Basketball Club will suit up for their final matchup in the month of February on Monday against the Phantom.
The Rose can push their way up to the lone second place spot in the Unrivaled standings with a win over the Phantom and a Laces loss to the Mist. The two teams are tied at 5-4 as the Rose continue to extend their recent win streak. The squad has won its last four games, including a stunning upset over the league's highest-ranking squad in the Lunar Owls. Both the Phantom and the Mist are near last place in the league with records of 3-6 and 2-7, respectively. The Lunar Owls are 9-1 in their first 10 games following a dominant win over the Laces on Saturday.
The Phantom have split their first two games since the end of the 1-on-1 tournament break. They earned a much-needed victory over the Vinyl behind a balanced scoring effort from its 5-player rotation. The trio of guard Sabrina Ionescu, forward Satou Sabally and center Brittney Griner is averaging 51.6 points per game, making them a trio to look out for when they face Reese and the Rose to start the week.
Reese, who is averaging a double-double in her first nine games, has turned a new leaf on offense following the league's 1-on-1 tournament. She has averaged 19 points per game on 52% from the floor while being matched up against some of the league's more notable bigs. The 6-foot-3 forward logged a season-defining performance against the Lunar Owls just when the Rose needed it the most. She ended the crucial win with 22 points and 21 rebounds, including eight on offense, as she continuously gained favorable looks against forward Napheesa Collier. Her continued development and her recent hot streak will be key in proving the Rose can roll with the best of them when they face the Phantom.
The Rose will tip off against the Phantom at 7:30 p.m. EST on Monday. The game will be broadcast on TNT.
